Bill Hicks died almost ten years ago at an early age from pancreatic cancer. He was way ahead of his time. This film interviews his parents, David Letterman, his early cohorts and other comedians intermixed with his stand up performances which feels like they could have been written yesterday. I know of no other comedian who has combined his passion for social justice with his outrageous outburst of laughter. Perhaps Lenny Bruce and George Carlin are the two that come to mind who resemble a similar style. If the social revolutionary Jesus had a sense of humor you would see it in Bill Hicks.
