I like this book a lot because we learn about how other cultures have built houses for centuries and their designs and methods, whether its a thatched roof, strawbale, mud, bamboo, sand, micro concrete, earth, clay blocks, its all here. Then the authors move into budgets, designs, refugee housing, how to finance the projects, building in post-disaster situations, and team teaching. It even includes how white Americans can work effectively with indigenous people worldwide. This book travels from Africa and Latin America, through India, China and Thailand, as well as Poland and Southwestern US. It includes over 30 contributors whose passion is sustainable building, efficient, inexpensive and locationally appropriate. With numerous photos. Learn about the book tour locally in this issue.
